Dr. Jim Burns brings over 35 years of regulatory and drug development experience to his role as a consultant.

Prior to establishing his own consultancy in January 2009, he was worldwide head of consulting for PharmaNet, a global contract research organization headquartered in Princeton, NJ.  He spent almost 12 years with PharmaNet, starting as one of the original founding partners until retiring from PharmaNet to start his own private consultancy.  

Prior to that time he spent 11 years as worldwide head of Regulatory Affairs at Corning Pharmaceutical Services (now part of Covance) and G.H. Besselaar Associates (which became part of Corning Pharmaceutical Services).  

Before joining G.H. Besselaar Associates he was at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for 14 years, serving as the Supervisory Pharmacologist in the Division of Cardiorenal Drug Products.

Dr. Burns received his PhD. in Pharmacology from the University of Maryland and a post-graduate degree (MSc in Experimental Pathology) from the Royal Postgraduate Medical School in London.
