Kunihiko “Kuni” Hayashi is professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at School of Health Sciences, Gunma University, Japan. He is principal investigator of a prospective cohort study project for women’s health, Japan Nurses’ Health Study (http://jnhs.umin.jp/). 

He received BS in 1980 and PhD in 1990 from University of Tokyo. He had worked for a Japanese pharmaceutical company as a biostatistician of clinical trials until 1996; and from 1990 through 1992, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard School of Public Health, USA. Dr Hayashi has served on public and private review committees for new drugs as well as environmental issues. His research interest is pharmacoepidemiology, women’s health, occupational health, and environmental health.
